Foreign friends

I spent my last weekend in Prague. It was a small travel connected with meeting my friends from the time when i had partecipated in Erasmus programme in Lecce. I met a lot of great young from so many different countries during my stay in Lecce but unfortunatly I saw only one guy from France and the girl from Australia in Prague.. It was really great to see their one more time. This kind of meeting shows the fact, that even if we live in others countries and continents is always a way to meet each other. I always appreciate the opportunity to speak in different language, to get to know more about the others cultures ecc. When we deppen the knowledge about others cultures we learn so much about world, about people. I had a chance to make short conversation with French guy about last  terrorist attack in Paris, this helped me to underestand how that horrible act was seen by French society. Nowdays, when travelling is quicker and easier than was 20 yeras ago. We have to only save some money, search cheap flights and go to visit the interesting place in the world.

Have you got some foreign friend with whom you mantain regular contact ?

GEORGIAN CUISINE

Cuisine is very important part of Georgian life and tradition. Climate ensure abundance of yields, fruits, vegetables and another delicious things. In the warm sun mature tomatos, watermelons, melons, grapes, persimmons and aubergines. The mountain pastures suppiled mutton and ewe cheese.
The main dish is very often khinkali: it's kind of dumpling filled with various fillings, mostly with spiced meat. They have very specific shape and when they are served warm they have hot broth inside. The way how to eat khinkali is also important.  We  have to suck the juice while we are taking the first bite and then we can continue to eat whole the dumpling.  The top, where the pleats meet, is though and is not supposed to be eaten.

Other Georgian dish is Khachapuri. It's a bread filled by cheese. The bread is leavened and allowed to rise and is shaped in various ways. Moreover the filling contain cheese and eggs, Khachapuri has the same importance fo Georgian as pizza for Italian.

Sulguni cheese with a sour and salty flavor is very popular in Giorgia,

Mcwadi is a shashlik with spices, prepared from sheepmeat, During the autumn Geogrian season them with grains of pomegranates.

Churchkhela is a traditional sausage - shaped candy made out of grape must, nuts and flour but also almonds, walnuts, hazel nuts and sometimes raisins. All the ingredients are threaded into a string, dipped in thickened grape juice and dried in the shape of a sausage.

BATUMI

Batumi is a wonderful place to visit. It is placed on the Black See and it is sorrounded by montains. It is the second biggest city of Georgia after Tibilisi, it is also the capital city of autonomous region Adjara and lies near to Turkey. Pepole in Batumi speak usually Georgian and Russian, only sometimes English. They are very easy- going and hospitable.
Batumi has a beautiful old city from Russian Rule Period but also a lot of modern buildings, luxury hotels and restaurants. Everyone who visit Batumi should try dumplings Kinkali, salty pie  Chaczapuri, cheese salgun and of course delicious georgian wine. All these things i will describe in the next post.. A very humid climate in Batumi gave an opportunity to build the one of biggest Botanical Garden in the world. It consist of nine floristic sectors, those of Caucasian humid subtropics, East Asia, New Zealand, South America, the Himalayas, Mexico, Australia and of the Mediterranean.
There are a lot of festivals like Jazz festival in July or Batumi Film Festival in September. In summer the city changes to one of the best party destination on the Black Sea. I recommended it to everyone, who likes to have fun, relax, get to know Georgian culture and cherisch beatiful nature.

Georgia

Last week I had an occasion to be in Georgia. The flights from Warsaw to Giorgia are very cheap so it can be a very economic chance to visit this country. I'm going to write several post about Giorgia starting of course from some general informations.
Georgia is the small country situated in the South Caucasus. The capital of Georgia is Tbilisi but the seat of Parliament is in Kutaisi. When you go to Georgia you don't need to speak Georgian. Most of people speak Russian and in the lot of cases when you say something in Polish they are able to recognize what you mean. For the daily shopping georgians can pay in their own currency Lari. A lot of people think that Georgia depends to areas which are backward but in reality is not like that. The big cities are very developed.
People from Georgia are very friendly. The best example of hospitality can be owner of our hostel. First of all: he was waiting for us at aiport then he took us to the hostel and when we arrived ahe gave us bootle of her own wine. In the mornig it was waiting for us delicious breakfast with  traditional georgian dishes. I'm going to describe some of them in next post.
