PASZTECIK

I saw that some of you wrote something about food especially of italian food which is ofcourse delicious but what about our polish food and local dish? I would like to present a dish originating in my region - " SZCZECIŃSKI PASZTECIK". What is it? It's a deep fried yeast dough stuffed with meat or vegetarian filling. It was very popular in the communist times but has the popularity also nowdays. The first local with Pasztecik was founded in 1969 and it's still functioning. The dough is crispy outside and soft inside. Exist three main types of filling : minced beef, sauerkraut and dried mushrooms, cheese and champignons. We can meet also Pasztecik with egg filling. "Pasztecik" is always served with the red borscht. From 22 December 2010 "pasztecik szczeciński" is listed on the official Polish traditional products list and is also  protected by the European Union law what means that all the "pasztecik" have to be made according to traditional recipe. If some of you will be in Szczecin i invite you to visit the oldest local with "pasztecik" situated on Wojska Polskiego 46.

                                                          What's your local food?

Szczecin

Many of people who live far away from Szczecin think that my city is situated by the sea. There was even a joke that to the sea we can get by tram number 10 ( but in fact there is no tram number 10 in Szczecin ). We don't have beach, dunes, jetty and other things. Sea is located about 100 km from Szczecin so this is not so close. Ok, we don't have the sea but in Szczecin you can visit a lot of intresting things which i see after my move to Poznań. Poznań is also beautiful ( and has the marketplace which we unfortunetly don't have ) but when you live in another city you appreciate more the one's own. What can we see in Szczecin ?
  •  The largest non-military shelter in Poland

  • The biggest cemetery in Poland and  the third biggest cemetery in Europe

  • Factory of chocolate "Gryf" ( the intresting fact is that very often you can smell the chocolate in the air )
  • Szczecin has wonderful entry to the city

  • Bulwary

Obviously there are more entertaing places in Szczecin you have to come here and visit them all. I can be your guide !

HAVE YOU EVER BEEN IN LECCE?

First time i've heard about Lecce 3 years ago. During my undergraduate studies i had an occasion to take part in the Erasmus programme. For this reason i had to choose or better i had  possibilty to indicate the place where i would go. I chose Bari but now i can say that fortunately there was no place for me. Then my erasmus coordinator proposed me Lecce and since this day has began my love to this city. Before my departure i saw million photos of Lecce, i read a lot of information but when i finally arrived there i found myself almost speechless. Lecce is wonderful !

Lecce is situated on the Salentine Penisula  and is called as the Florence of the South because of valuable baroque monuments. It's considered  the most beautiful city of the South.  Even if is located in the end of Italy is visited by a lot of turists. The gold color of the buildings is in totally harmony with the sun of Lecce what makes the city more wonderful. Lecce is also full of beans because of big quantity of students of University of Salento.
